Rob Font could be one of the most underrated talents in the UFC bantamweight division.

The Boston native won his fourth straight fight at UFC Fight Night 188, edging out former champion Cody Garbrandt in an impressive unanimous decision triumph. As good as Font looks, it’s not enough for him to gain ground from his current No. 7 ranking in the divisional poll. The bantamweight is just plain good.

Elsewhere, Norma Dumont made the biggest jump of all at UFC Fight Night 188, going from unranked to fourth at 145 pounds thanks to a thwarted victory over former title challenger Felicia Spencer in a main card match. . Dumont’s victory caused some reshuffle in the featherweight standings, although Cristiane Justino kept the status quo near the top of the division thanks to a fifth-round finish by Leslie Smith at the Bellator 259.

There was significant action in the atomic weight division as well, as Alesha Zappitella retained her belt with a controversial victory over Jessica Correa Delboni at Invicta FC 44. Thanks to her performance in a fight that many believed to be. ‘she deserved to win, Delboni dropped from 11th to seventh at 105 pounds – one place behind Zappitella. Meanwhile, Rena Kubota, with no recent wins in atomic weight – or super atomic weight – to speak of, leaves the 105-pound poll.
