A new spa salon concept will replace the space freed up by Red Door, a spa that permanently closed due to last year’s pandemic.

Private, a luxury skin and body care company, will open at 11838 Spectrum Center in the DC area in early 2022, a company spokesperson told Reston Now. The company will launch one of many sites that describes itself as one that focuses on “personalized wellness for the whole being.”

The company, known as Mynd Spa & Salon Inc., filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in March just days after announcing the temporary closure of all social media sites.

The first locations in the region will open in Westpoint and Bethesda. The Tysons Corner, Gaithersburg and Fairfax Corner locations are scheduled to open early next year.

Here’s more from the company on their brand:

Founded on the belief that everyone deserves “spa in a bottle” skincare products that deliver accessible luxury and rejuvenation, Christina Stratton and Ilana Alberico developed the Privai range following the success of their spa management company and wellness, Innovative Spa Management (ISM SPA). This next evolution of the Privai brand brings to life their passion for personal care and personalized well-being to better serve the body, mind and sense of self of individuals.

“We want to offer a place that truly meets individual needs: from spa and body treatments to salon and beauty services. We understand that no two guests are the same, and it is this belief that inspires us to curate unique experiences, its antidote to respite and recharge,” said Stratton.

The spa will be managed by ISM-SPAa spa management and wellness design company.

Privay assumed the leases for Red Door locations in the DC area. The Reston location is approximately 4,000 square feet and will include spa services in addition to salon services like manicures, pedicures and hair treatments.
