Need to pamper yourself and take care of yourself? Whether it’s your hair, skin, sore muscles or nails in need of maintenance, a group of dedicated practitioners have come together under one roof to offer residents and visitors alike. an experience of beauty and relaxation.

The blue Cruz Bay building that once housed the Healing Arts Complex – and before that, Marina Market – is now home to the TNT Nail Spa, where Vitamin Sea Spa and 08×10 Beauty & Barber offer their services. TNT Nails, at Raintree Court in Cruz Bay, will soon be relocating to the TNT Nail Spa building.

Vitamin Sea Spa owner Jennifer Lynn followed her brother, Casey Lynn, to St. John in 2005, leaving behind an aesthetic career in Los Angeles for a job at the Westin St. John spa. Lynn left the island to attend massage school in Crested Butte, Colorado, and returned to St. John with a new tool in her arsenal. She eventually branched out and opened her own spa at Lumberyard, where she offered medical aesthetic services like laser hair removal and skin tightening. About a year after it was installed in the Cruz Bay shopping complex, it was destroyed during Hurricane Irma.

“Coming back to the island after the storm I just wanted to be on my own, so I rented spaces with other spas and offered mobile services while I searched for my own place everywhere,” Lynn said.

While at the Westin, Lynn became friends with her colleague Aaron Payne, who worked at the resort’s spa as a massage therapist. Payne, who focuses on therapeutic stretching and kinesiology with a relaxing spa twist, also branched out in the wake of the 2017 hurricanes and partnered with Lynn at Vitamin Sea for couples massages and larger groups. important. TNT Nail Spa has two massage rooms, one for individual clients and a massage room for couples. Lynn and Payne, whose different approaches complement each other, see a mix of visitors and residents, they said.

“If anyone wants a deeper job on chronic issues, I tell them to go see Aaron,” Lynn said. “My deep tissue is completely different. I like to integrate cupping, so I approach muscles differently. I like that our work is completely different from each other so that we can bounce off each other. The collaboration and the opportunity to come together like this has been amazing. “

In addition to massage, Lynn continues to offer medical aesthetic services such as facial hair removal, eyelash lift and tint, and skin tightening, and is relaunching its laser hair removal service, which it was offering for the last time before the hurricanes this season.

“I love helping people feel and look their best,” Lynn said.

KC Bsisu’s 08×10 hairdressing and beauty salon completes the services offered at TNT Nail Spa. At the single-seater salon, named for its size – 8 feet by 10 feet – Bsisu offers cuts, colors, beard cuts and facial hair removal. Although she has been licensed in her field since 1999, this is the first time that she has had her own salon.

“My main reason for wanting my own space is that it’s so much nicer to have everything you need in one place,” Bsisu said. “I feel like I’m doing a better job when I’m in my own space with everything I need. The other women who do St. John’s hair have been very supportive of me, which has been a real blessing.

The trio agreed that working together under one roof has been a positive experience. “This setup is stress free,” Payne said of his new professional base. “Everyone is considerate and helpful to each other, and everyone has the same level of professionalism when it comes to the appearance of the place. It’s nice to be able to refer clients to each other without asking questions.
