Logan Paul says: ‘I can’t not do a single MMA fight before I die’
The YouTuber / boxer believes his wrestling background would one day help him in a cage.
Logan Paul is currently preparing to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. live on TV on June 6.
But the YouTuber / boxer couldn’t help but say that he will also have to fight in a mixed martial arts fight at some point in the near future.
“I actually think I’m probably better at MMA because of my wrestling background,” Paul said, speaking with Showtime on the Bellator 259 Friday night show. “I will say it’s a tough sport. It’s harder than boxing. MMA fighters are legitimate 360 fighters.
“I had knee problems in both knees and it’s hard on the body, but I can’t do not do an MMA fight before you die, “Paul promised.” I’m going to do at least one and if I win I’ll probably do another.
For what it’s worth, Paul earned the respect of UFC fighter Paulo Costa in a training session the two had together at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas last year.
This streak showed Costa and Paul wrestling on the mats, where the YouTuber did much better boxing than boxing with the Brazilian knocking him out.
After the workout, Costa even praised Paul for his fighting spirit.
“Ninety percent of the guys who go to practice MMA have good technique, but not a hard mind, not a big heart, you know? Costa told Paul. “You have both.”
