WAITE PARK – Your local salon may move, but don’t worry – it doesn’t go far.

Katie Schmitz and Steph Lewis, owners of DayLily Spa Salons in St. Cloud and Sartell, are expected to purchase land at the north end of First Avenue in Waite Park. The new location would replace the current lounge in St. Cloud.

The new site is located between Asteria Motel and Viking Electric.

“We are experiencing strong growth at our St. Cloud and Sartell Daylily sites,” said Kayla Schoenberg, the company’s marketing and public relations specialist. “Having our own building will allow us to make our Daymaking experience even better.”

The new building will be approximately 25% larger than the current St. Cloud location.

Schoenberg says the upgrade will provide more personalized service to customers. The expansion will double the number of stylist positions, add additional space for massages and include an amenity room.

Once Schmitz and Lewis have closed the land, the planned grand opening of the new building will take place in fall 2019 with a grand opening in summer 2020.

The lease at the current St. Cloud location is effective 2020.

One of the goals of the owners was to work in a freestanding building rather than in a shopping center.

“The land is surrounded by trees and we will be emphasizing landscaping, so that we can provide an earthy and serene environment for our guests,” said Schoenberg.

Schoenberg says Daylily is also “evaluating options to accommodate growth” at the Sartell site.
